I grab my purse, keys and mask as I head out the door! Who knew that a mask would become the norm? It’s something I have to get to love and accept as a new normal.

I wear a PPE mask at least 7 hours a day as an Essential Worker. As a result, after the first 2 hours, my face feels like its seen better days. When I take a well-needed break, I usually rush to my car, snatch off my mask and look my rear view mirror. I quickly spray my face with Rose Water, take a deep breath and enjoy the view of the sky from my car.

Facial Care is something that is very important. I think that keeping up a routine makes us maintain a sense of normalcy as we face these times. Here are some quick tips on what you can do to keep our faces healthy as we keep ourselves safe.

Skin Massage/Refresh

On-The-Go Self Care

  • Keep a spray bottle of filtered water or rosewater in your purse or car.
  • After sanitizing, carefully remove mask, close your eyes, and give your face a mist
  • Try take take a few deep breaths as you inhale and enjoy the refreshing sensation!
  • If at home, make sure you cleanse your face first, then after the above, apply your favorite oil; Argan Oil is a good starter oil or whatever you choose.
  • Now close your eyes and gently massage up and outwards being careful not to drag your skin, especially around your eyes!
  • Remember to breathe and enjoy this pampering session. It can take as little as 5 minutes if you are short on time.
  • You can then wash off the oil, use a warm cloth, or leave it on if your skin can handle it.
